
Biography
Born in Vienna, Lisa-Maria Sekine studied with Zakhar Bron at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, with Michael Frischenschlager and Dora Schwarzberg at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and earlier with Igor Ozim at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

She has been awarded prizes at major international competitions, among them the David Oistrakh International Violin Competition, the Johannes Brahms Competition and the Valsesia Musica International Violin Competition, and appears regularly at concerts and festivals worldwide.
​
As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras including the Frédéric Chopin Philharmonic Orchestra, the South Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Budweis, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Qazaq State Symphony Orchestra.
​
In addition to her concert activities, she has worked as an assistant to Michael Frischenschlager at the International Music Academy Orpheus in Vienna and at the Festival Bled in Slovenia.
​
Lisa-Maria Sekine performs on a violin by Sanctus Seraphin from Venice (1748), generously loaned to her by the National Bank of Austria.
